FDS Consult UK appoints former Hoare Lea Associate Engineer as London team expands

FDS Consult UK, one of the UK’s leading experts in fire engineering, has appointed Steven Morgan to head up its growing London based team, overseeing a rising number of projects in the capital. Steven joins the company as Associate Director, from international engineering specialist Hoare Lea, and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry.

Throughout his career as both a fire engineer and Chartered Building Control Surveyor, Steven has provided fire safety advice to designers, contractors, and building operators across all sectors including large residential, commercial and mixed use projects.  His new role at FDS Consult UK will involve overseeing the growing consultant team in London, offering close-at-hand expertise and advice for the company’s capital based clients.

With an increasing number of residential developments opting for open-plan layouts, there is a greater need for engineered fire strategies that offer an alternative to a standard code compliant approach. This is where the expertise of the team at FDS Consult UK can add value to a project, by creating a fire strategy that meets the necessary safety objectives without compromising project budgets or architectural aspirations.

Steven Morgan, Associate Director, comments:

“The opportunity to join FDS Consult UK is very exciting, and I am looking forward to the challenge of offering clients a great team of fire safety experts who can provide hands-on advice, working with our growing portfolio of clients across London.”

Gerard Sheridan, Chairman at FDS Consult UK, said:

“We are delighted to have Steven on board. Very few people in the sector have such an extensive portfolio of major projects, as well as the management experience of building a team of consultants. This appointment is required as FDS Consult UK has seen rising demand for its services as more residential and commercial developments are built across London. We are in the position of being able to provide architects, developers and contractors clear, valued and trusted advice on fire safety strategies, ensuring finished buildings meet all requirements.”
