FDS Consult UK has been appointed to complete the fire strategy for the refurbishment of the pavilion Leisure Centre in Bromley.
This extensive leisure centre located in the heart of Bromley town centre, is undergoing a £5million improvement scheme, which includes upgrades to all facilities such as a state of the art gym, a leisure pool with wave machine, exercise studios, a family play area with ten pin bowling, and structural works to create a new entrance, improve the reception and café areas.
The enhancement works will lead to greater occupancy levels, a key element FDS Consult UK had to address in the fire strategy. The resultant strategy allowed for increased occupancy by justifying the escape route via the existing staircases, and justified the need for additional refuge areas based on existing compartmentation.
