As part of its ongoing expansion, FDS Consult UK, a leading expert on fire engineering in the UK, has brought a further two Associate Fire Engineers to join its growing team.
Both Granville Harris and Hayden Julian will be working on FDS Consult UK’s impressive portfolio which includes The Corniche, a mixed-use development situated on the Thames’ Albert Embankment.
The pair have an extensive knowledge of the fire industry, having worked for the London Fire Brigade for a total of 60 years between them.
Granville, who has also worked within London Fire Brigade’s Fire Engineering Department and more recently at International Fire Consultants as a Senior Fire Engineer, will be working on design proposals alongside architects and designers to create the most appropriate fire safety strategy for each individual project.
Speaking on his new role at FDS Consult UK, Granville said “FDS Consult UK is known for delivering innovative, practical solutions for properties for all sectors, ranging from high-rise residential to industrial premises and this is a field I have always been interested in.
“I hope that my experience will help to develop the company, and provide guidance for the younger graduate engineers.”
Carrying out similar tasks to Granville, Hayden Julian – who is based in the company’s London offices – will also be working with FDS Consult UK’s range of impressive clients including Berkeley Homes and Lend Lease to deliver tailor-made fire strategies.
Hayden Julian said: “FDS Consult UK currently have a number of large, exciting projects coming up that I can’t wait to begin working on. Having worked in the London Fire Brigade for 30 years, I’m confident that my fire engineering knowledge will allow me to further extend the team’s already impressive list of credentials.”
Gerard Sheridan, Chairman at FDS Consult UK said “This is an exciting time for Granville and Hayden to join us at FDS Consult UK. Our project portfolio is growing at a substantial rate and our relationship with clients has never been stronger. We’d like to wish them all the best in their new positions and I’m looking forward to working closely with them on a number of upcoming projects.”
