As we continue to grow as a business, it is important that our team grows with us; therefore we are pleased to announce that two new graduate engineers have started with us here at FDS Consult UK.
The first of our new hires is Amir Karim. Having recently completed his MSc in Advanced Engineering Design, Amir decided to get into fire engineering after seeing an increasing demand for fire strategy services in the construction industry. His role at FDS Consult UK will see him working with our clients to develop individual fire safety plans across a variety of projects as well as liaising closely with building control.
Speaking on his new role, Amir said: “Initially I wasn’t aware of fire design, however having seen the industry grow over recent years, I realised the importance of including fire strategies to new and existing buildings. I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity here at FDS Consult UK.”
Joining Amir as a Graduate Fire Engineer will be Joseph Arrabali. Having worked as a fire steward at Fulham Football club and a fire fighter for London Fire Brigade for six years, Joseph knows a thing or two about fire safety! He then went on to study Civil Engineering at London South Bank University where he was able to gain valuable engineering experience. His role here at FDS will be similar to Amir’s – working with our clients and architects to achieve the best fire strategies for their projects.
Joseph Arrabali said: “I’m excited to be a part of the team here at FDS Consult UK. Their career progression opportunities are great and I look forward to developing my skills as a Fire Engineer.”
At FDS Consult UK, we aim to recruit as many graduates as possible as they are the future of our industry. We have successfully worked with a number of graduates and seen them develop into excellent engineers; therefore we are pleased to announce that one of our recent graduate fire engineers, Michael Hubbard, has been promoted to a Fire Engineer.
During his work-placed training with FDS Consult UK, Michael became proficient in our SmartFire CFD systems and developed in-depth knowledge on the guidance and application of legislation relevant to fire engineering, which has helped him gain his promotion as a Fire Engineer Consultant. His new role will entail advanced Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis and liaising with clients to develop innovative fire strategies.
Speaking on his new promotion, Michael said: “FDS Consult UK is a renowned, leading fire engineering consultancy that offers substantial personal development. In my new role, I am to widen my knowledge on complex systems and I look towards playing an instrumental role in growing the expertise of the consultancy team.”
We would like to wish our two new graduate Fire Engineers, Amir and Joseph, and our newly promoted Fire Engineer, Michael, the best of luck and we hope you enjoy your new roles at FDS Consult UK.
